Souls
Souls are the primary currency in Hy-Souls. You earn them by defeating enemies and finding soul items in chests, and spend them at bonfires to craft gear and trade for materials.
Earning Souls
Defeating Enemies
When you kill an NPC, it drops Soul Essence on the ground. Walk over it to pick it up – the item is automatically consumed and added to your soul counter.
Different enemies drop different amounts of souls:
| Enemy Type | Souls Dropped |
|---|---|
| Dragons | 1,500 |
| Void creatures | 1,500 |
| Golems | 600 |
| Undead (Skeletons, Zombies) | 600 |
| Intelligent (Trorks, Outlanders, Goblins, Kweebec, Feran) | 300 |
| Spirits | 150 |
| Beasts (Fen Stalkers, Spiders, Scorpions, Warthogs) | 150 |
| Wildlife (Deer, Moose, Bison, Ram) | 50 |
| Livestock (Pigs, Sheep, Cows, Horses) | 30 |
| Aquatic creatures | 25 |
| Critters (Mice, Rats, Rabbits) | 20 |
| Flying critters (Birds, Chickens, Turkeys) | 15 |
| Passive creatures | 10 |
Finding Soul Items in Chests
Dungeon and world chests can contain consumable soul items. Unlike regular soul essence, these stay in your inventory until you choose to use them. Right-click to consume and add the souls to your counter.
| Item | Souls Gained |
|---|---|
| Soul of a Skeleton Undead | 200 |
| Large Soul of a Skeleton Undead | 400 |
| Soul of a nameless Goblin | 800 |
| Large Soul of a nameless Goblin | 1,000 |
| Soul of a proud Slothian | 2,000 |
| Large Soul of a proud Slothian | 3,000 |
| Soul of a brave Feran | 5,000 |
| Large Soul of a brave Feran | 8,000 |
| Soul of a Hero Kweebec | 10,000 |
| Large Soul of a Hero Kweebec | 20,000 |
Consumable soul items drop on death, so consider using them before heading into dangerous areas – or save them as a bank for later.
