Humanity
Humanity is a rare secondary currency used to reverse hollowing and kindle bonfires for extra Estus charges.
Earning Humanity
Humanity drops as a rare reward from defeating enemies. Not all enemies drop it, and even those that do only have a small chance:
| Enemy Type | Humanity Drop Chance |
|---|---|
| Dragons | 10% |
| Void creatures | 10% |
| Critters | 10% |
| Golems | 5% |
| Undead | 5% |
| Intelligent (Trorks, Goblins, etc.) | 3% |
| Default (unmatched enemies) | 2% |
| Spirits | 1% |
| Beasts | 1% |
| Wildlife, Livestock, Flying, Aquatic, Passive | No drop |
You can also find Concentrated Humanity items. Right-click to consume them and gain 1 Humanity.
Using Humanity
Reverse Hollowing
When you die, you become hollow. To restore your human form, rest at a bonfire and select Reverse Hollowing. This costs humanity (consumed automatically).
Kindle Bonfires
Kindling a bonfire increases how many Estus charges you receive when resting there. Each kindle level costs 1 Humanity. You must be in human form (not hollow) to kindle.
See Bonfires for kindle level details.
Losing Humanity
When you die, all humanity is lost. Unlike consumable soul items, there’s no way to bank humanity – what you have is what’s at risk.
